The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner completed a comprehensive postmortem examination today, November 16, 2017, following the death of rap artist Gustav Ahr, known professionally as Lil Peep.
Ahr, 21, died on the night of November 15 in Tucson, where he was scheduled to perform a concert. While it is suspected Ahr died of a drug overdose, it will be six to eight weeks before toxicology test results are available to definitively determine the cause of death.
The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner contracts toxicology testing with an independent reference laboratory. According to the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office, “Comprehensive toxicology testing may take several weeks to perform depending on the results of the testing and volume of the laboratory.”
