Phoenix Serial Killer In Custody, Tried To Be A Rapper

Phoenix Police announced today the arrest of serial killer Cleophus Cooksey. Cooksey, age 35, is linked to multiple homicides in Phoenix, Avondale, and Glendale.

Cooksey was arrested on December 17, 2017 in connection with the shooting deaths of his mother and step-father. Forensic evidence from those murders were then connected to the others.

Cooksey murdered nine people in a three week time period. According to FOX News, “Cooksey’s other alleged victims include the brother of his ex-girlfriend and various men and women of black, white and Hispanic race and ethnicity.”

“Cooksey has a long criminal history,” FOX News reported. “The suspect was convicted of manslaughter when he was 18. While in prison, he was found guilty of assaulting prison employees, drug possession and fighting. He was released from prison in January 2015 and received a DUI in November of that year.”

After being incarcerated for manslaughter at the age of 18, Cooksey was released in 2015 and released a rap video.
