Tucson Man Dies In Craycroft Collision

On January 19, 2018, 83-year-old Robert Stace, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a collision that occurred on January 10.

On January 10, 2018, shortly before 6:30 p.m., Tucson Police officers and members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to East Speedway Boulevard and North Craycroft Road for a report of a serious injury collision involving two vehicles. Upon arrival, they located Mr. Stace and an adult female in one vehicle with serious injuries.

They were both transported to Banner University Medical Center. The adult male driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

The investigation on scene revealed that Mr. Stace and his female passenger were eastbound on Speedway Blvd intending to make a northbound turn onto N. Craycroft Rd. As the driver made the turn, he was struck by the driver of a Gray 2004 Ford F-150 who was westbound Speedway Blvd. Neither speed nor impairments appeared to be factors in this collision.
