Double Homicide In Vail Under Investigation

On Friday, just after 4:00 p.m., Pima County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an aggravated assault in the 3200 block of East Calle Agassiz. When they arrived, they met with a male victim who had multiple injuries to his body. Prior to being transported to the hospital, the victim was able to provide deputies with suspect information, as well as his address where it was believed there could be more victims.

Deputies proceeded to the victim’s residence in the 400 block of North Tomasita Drive. When they arrived, deputies forced entry after receiving no response from inside. Once inside, deputies found two female victims dead from obvious signs of trauma. After canvassing the area, deputies located the male suspect in a culvert on the northwest side of the property with serious injuries of his own. Deputies took custody of the suspect until he could be transported to the hospital for his injuries. Both the suspect and male victim remain in the hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives responded to the scene and determined the male suspect, male victim, and two female victims appear to have lived together at the residence.
