Vail Man Charged With Murdering Wife, 15 Year Old Daughter

On Saturday, Pima County Sheriff’s deputies charged 44-year-old Hernando Enriquez for the murder of his wife, 43-year-old Sandra Enriquez, and daughter, 15-year-old Isabelle Enriquez. He has also been charged for the attempted murder of his son.

On Friday, just after 4:00 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an aggravated assault in the 3200 block of East Calle Agassiz. When they arrived, they met with Hernando Enriquez’s son, who had multiple injuries to his body. Prior to being transported to the hospital, he was able to provide deputies with information, as well as his address where it was believed there could be more victims.

Deputies proceeded to the victim’s residence in the 400 block of North Tomasita Drive. When they arrived, deputies forced entry after receiving no response from inside. Once inside, deputies found Enriquez’s wife and daughter dead from obvious signs of trauma.

After briefly canvassing the area, deputies located Enriquez in a culvert on the northwest side of the property with serious injuries of his own. Deputies took custody of Enriquez until he could be transported to the hospital for his injuries.

Both Enriquez and his son remain in the hospital with serious injuries.
