The Tucson Police Department is investigating the death of 29-year-old Mark Garity that occurred in midtown Tucson on Tuesday morning.
On February 27, 2018, just after 2:30 a.m., Tucson Police officers responded to a report of a “man down” in the roadway on E. Monte Vista Dr. near N. Flanwill Blvd. Upon arrival, they located Mr. Garity with obvious head trauma from an unknown cause. The officers began rendering aid and summoned paramedics. Members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene and continued treatment.
Mr. Garity male was pronounced deceased on scene.
Detectives learned Mr. Garity lived in area and was last seen earlier this morning. An autopsy was performed and confirmed the trauma was from a gunshot. No suspects have been identified at this time. The investigation is ongoing and detectives are urging anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME (you can remain anonymous).
