In Pinal County on March 13, 2018, detectives assigned to the Arizona Department of Public Safety Border Strike Force (AZBSF), stopped a shuttle van near mile post 173 for violating traffic laws.
During the stop, detectives noted several indicators of criminal activity. Detectives discovered 8.5 pounds of heroin within an unclaimed piece of luggage. The approximate street value of the heroin is $270,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
