ACC Orders Johnson Utilities To Show Why Interim Manager Not Needed

Th Arizona Corporation Commissioners unanimously approved an Order to Show Cause against Johnson Utilities, LLC. The order states Johnson Utilities, LLC is to appear before the Corporation Commission and show cause why, among other things, an Interim Manager should not be appointed to guarantee the necessary technical expertise and managerial experience to run the utility.

The Corporation Commission’s vote followed discussion between commissioners and staff, along with public comment from Johnson Utilities, LLC customers and Pinal County Supervisor Mike Goodman.

Johnson Utilities is an Arizona public service corporation that provides water and wastewater utility services in portions of Maricopa and Pinal Counties, Arizona. The company services more than 25,600 service connections and 35,000 sewer laterals.

Johnson Utilities, LLC has 10 days to respond to the Corporation Commission following Friday’s decision. A hearing has been set for March 29, 2018 starting at 10 a.m. at the Corporation Commission, 1200 W. Washington St., Phoenix.
