Tucson Motorcyclist Killed By Red Light Runner

On Sunday April 29, 2018, around 9:21 p.m., Tucson Police officers and members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to a report of a serious injury collision involving a motorcycle on N. Campbell Ave. and E. Roger Rd. Upon arrival, they located an adult male motorcycle rider, 26-year-old Jeremy Bowley,  on the ground with serious injuries.

He was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The adult male driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Detectives learned Mr. Bowley was riding a black 2011 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Roger Rd. and made a left turn to head southbound on Campbell Ave. The adult male driver of a blue 2004 Ford Mustang was northbound on Campbell Ave. in the curb lane and failed to stop for the red light at E. Roger Rd., striking Mr. Bowley.

Mr. Bowley was wearing a helmet. Speed and failing to yield appear to be factors in this collision. The investigation is ongoing to determine if impairment was a factor.

Detectives are continuing the investigation and no citations or arrests have been made at this time.
