On Monday, Arizona’s striking teachers converged again on the Capitol to rally for higher pay through higher taxes. Monday’s protesters displyed unusually aggressive behavior, according to legislators:
I appreciate citizens right to protest but I’m not sure I believe surrounding my car as I park and aggressively yelling/chanting things at me to the point that security feels compelled to escort me into the House building is a winning strategy. Let’s all be civil today ?

“It’s basically tax the rich to pay teachers,” @OneArizona organizer Carlos Garcia described the “Invest in Education Act.”
The group just picked up the petition sheets from the printer – “they’re still warm” – and people are “rushing” to sign them, he said. #RedForEd @azcentral pic.twitter.com/RGXTraNjDA— Rebekah L. Sanders? (@RebekahLSanders) April 30, 2018
