Coup d’Etat

On January 22, 2017, in this column, titled “Fake Intelligence Report,” I reported on the fake intelligence report produced and vetted by then Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, then Director of FBI James Comey and former Director of Central Intelligence John Brennan, all loyal Obama appointees.

The unclassified intelligence report was short on facts and long on speculation: “In fact this report smells of cheap political disinformation produced by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan, and FBI Director James Comey, all Obama appointees. This report was nothing less than a tactic to distract from the Hillary Clinton loss to Donald Trump. It is a blatant attempt to delegitimize the Trump presidency, just like the 68 Democrats who boycotted the inauguration tried to do.”

The recently released House Intelligence Report on Russian collusion shows Clapper caught in a lie: “Finding #44: Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, now a CNN national security analyst, provided inconsistent testimony to the Committee about his contacts with the media, including CNN.” In fact, Clapper leaked the false Russian Dossier to Jake Tapper.  Both Comey and Clapper denied having anything to do with the media reporting of the Russian Dossier.

On June 12, 2017, again in this column, titled “Comey’s Credibility Problem,”  I concluded that, in his Senate Intelligence  Committee testimony, Comey came across as weak and unable to respond to the President honestly.

In 1996, Jim Comey acted as the deputy special counsel for the Senate committee investigating the Whitewater scandal. While some people connected to the Whitewater company were arrested and charged with crimes. Comey eventually acknowledged that Hillary Clinton obstructed the investigation and destroyed evidence, but he decided not to prosecute due to Clinton’s ‘lack of intent’ . . . Then, in 2016, Comey accumulated enough information about Hillary Clinton’s email server and mishandling of classified information. Comey condemned her actions yet did not prosecute due to her ‘lack of intent.’ Sound familiar?”

Now we have Bill Priestap, the FBI’s head of Counterintelligence, who had  a key role in  the FBI’s exoneration of Hillary Clinton, the Trump-Russia investigation and surveillance of the Trump campaign.  The individual above Priestap, Andrew McCabe has been fired. The agent below Priestap, Peter Strzok, has been demoted and removed from the Mueller investigation. Is Mueller trying to “flip” Priestap? If so, Clapper, Brennan and Comey better start worrying.

The sheer number of people who have resigned, been fired, or demoted is staggering. DOJ’s National Security Department Head John Carlin unexpectedly resigned in September 2016 as National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers was about to report evidence of Section 702 queries to the FISA court. In my column of 4/15/18, Comey: “’A Higher Loyalty’ . . . to Hillary”, I mentioned that NSA Director Rogers “met with President Trump, ostensibly to be interviewed for staying in his current position. He informed Trump that the Obama administration was monitoring Trump Tower and all phone calls.  The next day, the Trump team decamped to New Jersey. Bill Binney, a 36-year veteran of the National Security Agency verified that Donald Trump’s team was being monitored at Trump Tower.”

Acting Attorney general Sally Yates  was fired by President Trump in May 2017. Former FBI Director James Comey was fired in May 2017. Peter Strzok and Lisa Page were demoted off the Mueller team in August 2017. FBI top counsel James Baker was fired in December 2018. DOJ Attorney Bruce Ohr, whose spouse worked at Fusion GPS, was demoted twice, most recently in January 2018.

Andrew McCabe, number two man at the FBI, was fired in January 2018. David Laufman, DOJ Deputy Assistant Attorney General  in charge of counterintelligence resigned in February 2018. Michael Kortan, FBI Assistant Director of Public Affairs resigned the day after Laufman. Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand, the number three official behind Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, resigned the day after Kortan.

The original decision to blame Russia  for Hillary Clinton’s loss to President Trump was Hillary’s (see Shattered, by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, pages 394 and 395).  Hillary Clinton paid Fusion GPS to fabricate a Dossier. Comey, Brennan and Clapper fabricated a fake intelligence report to bolster the smear against Trump. And we now know that five billionaires from California and New York entered into a conspiracy to overthrow the Trump administration with a $50 million investment.

We now know there never was a Trump-Russia collusion. We now know the collusion with Russia was through Fusion GPS, the DNC and high-level members of the FBI, CIA and DNI. The question is, will the Department of Justice indict and prosecute these traitors?
