Tucson Man Killed In Motorcycle Collision

On May 30, 2018, around 10:10 a.m., Tucson Police officers and members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to a report of a serious injury collision involving a motorcycle on S. Craycroft Rd. and E. 29th St. The Tucson Fire Department arrived on scene and provided treatment to the adult male motorcycle rider, 25-year-old David Kennett.

Mr. Kennett was pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver of the vehicle and a passenger were not injured. Detectives learned the driver of a red 2013 Dodge Caravan was southbound on Craycroft Rd. in the left turn lane to head eastbound on 29th St. The driver had entered the intersection on a green light. Mr. Kennett was riding a silver 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on Craycroft Rd. in the curb lane. The light cycled from green to red and then the driver of the Dodge made the left turn. Mr. Kennett struck the front passenger side of the Dodge.

Mr. Kennett was wearing a helmet but was thrown from the motorcycle.

Witnesses reported they heard the motorcycle accelerating prior to the collision. The driver of the Dodge remained on scene. Neither speed nor impairment appears to be a factor in this collision related to the driver of the Dodge.
