In Jail For 2002 Murders, Pima County Inmate Commits Suicide

On June 16, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Pima County corrections officers doing their rounds within the Pima County Adult Detention Complex found an inmate, 47-year-old Brian Ferry, who was unresponsive in his cell.

Officers immediately entered the cell and began administering emergency life saving measures while they waited for Tucson Fire Department personnel to arrive.

After attempting to resuscitate the inmate, medical personnel pronounced him dead at the jail. Homicide detectives responded to the jail and determined the death was a suicide.

Ferry was in jail for the murder of Charles Russell and Catherine Nelson which occurred in 2002.
