Man Arrested For East Side Tucson Homicide

The Tucson Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting of 53-year-old Wade Lockwood that occurred yesterday evening on Tucson’s East Side.

On July 4, 2018, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Tucson Police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex located at 1039 North Alamo Avenue for a report of a shooting. The caller reported that he shot and killed his neighbor after a brief altercation.

Upon arrival, officers located the caller in front of the complex where he was immediately detained and identified as 56-year-old Gregory Walters. Walters claimed the shooting took place inside of his apartment. Officers entered Walters’ apartment where they found a deceased male on the floor with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.

Detectives were able to determine the victim was visiting with Walters at his apartment before the incident occurred. After speaking with officers and reviewing evidence at the scene, detectives arrested Walters and booked him into the Pima County Jail on one count of Second Degree Murder.
