Early Afternoon Trailer Home Fire On Southside Tucson

On Wednesday, multiple calls to 9-1-1 were made just after 1:00 p.m. reporting smoke and flames from a trailer in Tucson near the intersection of South Park Ave. and East Bilby Road.

Tucson Fire units approaching the scene could also see black smoke showing from the trailer home park. Arriving on-scene at the 6100 block of South Park Avenue, firefighters saw a single-wide trailer with smoke and flames showing and began primary search and fire attack.

The fire was found to mostly be on the north side of the structure and not threatening any other trailers in the park. A search of the trailer found it to be unoccupied and firefighters continued to check to see if the fire extended anywhere else into the structure. Ten units and twenty-five firefighters controlled the fire in twelve minutes after arriving on scene.

There were no injuries to firefighters. One adult male resident, who was not home at the time of the fire, was displaced from the trailer and said they would be staying with family.
