1 Dead In Airplane Crash Near Prescott Regional Airport

The Prescott Regional Communications Center received an alert on August 29, 2018 at approximately 8:35 p.m. from the Prescott Regional Airport traffic control tower regarding a possible plane crash near the north end of the airport.

First responders from the Prescott Police Department, the Prescott Fire Department, and the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority arrived in the area to find a single engine aircraft had indeed crashed approximately ¼ of a mile to the north of the airport property in an adjacent field.

One occupant was located inside the aircraft and was confirmed deceased on scene.

The cause of the crash is not known. The investigation is ongoing and will be completed in cooperation with NTSB personnel.
