Flagstaff School On “Lock Out” After Sexual Assault Report

On Friday, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office requested a lock out of Sechrist School while law enforcement investigated a report of a sexual assault in the Fort Valley area.

On September 7, 2018 around 10:42 a.m., Coconino County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a report of a sexual assault in the area of Forest Service Road 164B (located off of Highway 180). Coconino County Sheriff’s Office dispatch was told that a woman was pushed out of a vehicle and reported being sexually assaulted. A possible involved vehicle was reported as last seen entering a parking lot by Sechrist school.

At 10:44 a.m., as deputies were responding to the scene, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office requested Sechrist school be placed in lock out, protective status. At 11:00 a.m., an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper located the involved vehicle in the area of Highway 89N and Market Place and detained its occupants for investigation. At 11:08 a.m., the school was taken off lock out status.
