Mesa Man Charged For Having Over Forty Homemade Bombs

A Mesa man, Jeffrey Metcalf, was indicted by a State Grand Jury on charges related to manufacturing and storing prohibited weapons.

Metcalf is accused of possessing 42 homemade pipe bombs and the materials to manufacture 30 additional bombs at his Mesa residence. The removal and disposal of the devices required a joint effort between the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS), and the Mesa Police Department.

Metcalf is facing 42 felony counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons.

ATF and AZDPS investigated this case.
