Murder Victim Pulled From 900 Foot Well In Goodyear

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office received a call-in reference to 45-year old William “Bill” Cahill, found deceased in a vehicle, near Perryville Road and Hunt Highway, on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at approximately 1:44 p.m.

Cahill, was found deceased in the driver’s seat from an apparent suicide. A hose was connected to the tailpipe of the vehicle and ran into the car to fill the cab of the vehicle with carbon monoxide. MCSO detectives were notified and began the investigation into the death.

During the investigation by detectives, multiple videos were discovered on the decedents cell phone, which were accompanied by a note telling someone to watch video clips on the phone. During these videos William Cahill stated he had shot his girlfriend “Daisy” twice and placed her body in a well somewhere in the desert. Detectives attempted to find “Daisy”, who was later identified as 37-year-old Carolyn Dahlgren, but were unsuccessful at that time.

On Tuesday, October 23, investigators located a private well in the area of Queen Creek Road and 155th Avenue. Detectives discovered a concrete slab with a metal well shaft, approximately 900 feet deep and 18”-20” in diameter.

MCSO Homicide Unit assumed the investigation and utilized a private well company to recover the body which was approximately 360 feet down the well. The recovery of Carolyn Dahlgren’s body was made from the well at about 9pm last night, Tuesday October 23.

This is an ongoing open investigation.
