Border Patrol Agent Schwartz Found Not Guilty

The family of former Border Patrol agent Lonnie Schwartz have much to be grateful for after a federal jurors found him not guilty of involuntary manslaughter on Wednesday.

Schwartz was on trial for the second time as part of the Obama administration’s attack on law enforcement agents and agencies. Schwartz shot 16-year-old Jose Antonio Elena Rodríguez when his group across the border was throwing rocks at agents on the U.S. side while they were making an arrest.

He was acquitted of second-degree murder charges in April, but the first jury wasn’t able to make a decision on the lesser charges and the Obama administration holdouts were determined to use him as scapegoat.
