BP Agents Intercept Runaway Teens From Gilbert

Two juvenile runaways, from Gilbert who were attempting to travel through the Interstate 8 Immigration Checkpoint on Wednesday were intercepted by Border Patrol agents, according to CBP.

Wellton Station Border Patrol agents assigned to the primary inspection lane encountered the 2 females traveling in a bronze 2006 Honda Accord at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The 16-year-old driver and 17-year-old passenger of the vehicle were reported as missing to the Gilbert Police Department by their parents.

Agents contacted the Arizona Department of Public Safety, who responded to the checkpoint and released the two teens to their parents.
