Arizona Officers Deliver For Kids This Holiday Season, More Cheer Needed

Across the state, law enforcement agencies have delivered good cheer and gifts to kids and families though programs like “Shop-With-A-Cop.”

For some agencies like the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, their work is not done. On Friday, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office reached out to friends on Facebook to thank them for their support and to ask them to support the Gifts of Hope Program, administered by the Arizona’s Children Association.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Arizona’s Children Association is one of the oldest child welfare and behavioral health agencies in Arizona. It started in Tucson as a child welfare agency and in the early 1900’s served as an orphanage.

From the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office:

In Southern Arizona the ACA has anywhere from 350-500 children in the behavioral health and child welfare services

Clients range in age from infants to 21 years old.

The ACA runs foster care/adoption and kinship services programs, parent aid services, and Independent Living Services (helping youth transition into adulthood when they “age out” of the system), and behavioral health services.

The ACA does not double nominate children, so if a child participated in Shop with a cop they aren’t added to Gifts of Hope or other lists.

What would be of the most help now are items as follows:
