BP Agents Arrest Sex Offender, MS-13 Gang Member

 An MS-13 gang member and a sex offender were arrested by Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents during separate incidents Wednesday and Thursday.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), on Wednesday evening, a 46-year-old Mexican national, was arrested after he illegally entered the U.S. near Lukeville. Agents discovered through processing the illegal alien that he was convicted in 2002 of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in Mesa, Arizona.

The 24-year-old arrested on Thursday is a national of El Salvador. According to CBP, agents conducting records checks learned that he is a member of the “Mara Salvatrucha” (MS-13) street gang.

Authorities consider both of them felons previously removed from the country and now face federal criminal immigration charges.
