Cochise County Dog Lovers Defrauded Online

Two southern Arizona dog lovers fell victim to online fraudsters when they attempted to purchase a dog. The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the two separate cases of internet fraud.

One victim from Willcox, and one in Douglas reported making payments to a subject out of state for the purchase of an AKC registered dog.

After the initial payments were made in amounts over $600, more money was requested to “ship” the animal in a special container, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.

The victims’ payments were made through moneygrams at Walmart.

Neither victim received the animal and were ultimately out in amounts of $1575.00 and $1072.00.
