Mom Of Dead Baby In Amazon Trash Can Interviewed By Police

A newborn female child was found dead in a trash can inside of a restroom at an Amazon distribution center in West Phoenix. The discovery of the baby occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to Phoenix Police, the baby appeared to be at or near full-term.

Police have identified and interviewed the mother as part of their investigation. They have not released the mother’s name.

Arizona has a safe haven law which allows parents to turn newly born babies, up to 3 days of age, over to law enforcement without consequences.
