Sahuarita Police release name of homicide victim

SAHUARITA —  Two people were shot, one of them fatally, during an apparent home invasion that occurred on East Sahuarita Road.

The deceased victim was identified as  59-year-old Manuel  Bojorquez of Eloy.

When Sahuarita Police officers arrived on the scene at about 2 a.m. Saturday, they discovered the two victims, said a department news release.

Both victims were transported to a hospital, where Bojorquez was pronounced dead on Sunday. The other shooting victim was treated and released.

Witnesses told police Spanish-speaking males whose faces were covered entered the home with multiple firearms and fired shots.

One suspect was described as a Hispanic male with a lighter complexion. Detectives are continuing to gather information and follow leads.

Sahuarita Police detectives are continuing to investigate.

The Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anything such as suspicious people in the vicinity to call 911 and speak to an officer. Any tip could be important.
