Tucson Murder, Suicide Under Investigation

TUCSON — The Tucson Police Department is investigating an apparent murder/suicide that took the lives of 49-year-old Cindi Wiley and 53-year-old Andrew Wiley occurred on Friday evening on Tucson’s East Side.

At about 4:30 p.m. Friday officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of North Fenceline Drive for reports of a possible shooting, said a release from the department.

Neighbors called 911, saying they heard gunfire coming from a specific home in the neighborhood.

While officers were enroute, an additional 911 call was received from a family member who advised of a possible shooting at the same address.

The family member was not at the home, but had received a phone call about the incident. The caller also advised that an 8-year-old boy was possibly inside of the residence.

When officers arrived on the scene, they attempted to make contact with the Wileys, but were unsuccessful. Members of the Tucson Police SWAT team were also dispatched to the home.

After there was no response from  inside, SWAT team members forced entry, and sent a robot equipped with a camera into the residence. Officers saw on a monitor what appeared to be two unresponsive adults on the floor.

SWAT team members entered the home and found Andrew Wiley and Cindi Wiley with gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead on the scene.

The officers  found the child, who was uninjured. He was released into the care of extended family members.
