Tucson male charged with murder for allegedly killing his 2 month-old daughter

TUCSON — Dustin Jose, 22, has been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly causing the death of two month-old Dezlyianna Lopez-Jose, who died Saturday in a Tucson hospital.

Tucson Police officers  and Tucson Fire paramedics were sent to a home in the 500 block of West Thurber Road Tuesday in response to a call about an unresponsive infant, said a Tucson P.D. news release.

Two-month old Dezlyianna Lopez-Jose was rushed to Banner University Medical Center, where it was discovered that she had sustained multiple brain bleeds and multiple rib fractures.

Some of the rib fractures appeared to have occurred at an earlier date.

Officers discovered that Dezlyianna was at home during the day in the care of her father, Dustin Jose, while her mother was at work.

Detectives with the department’s Child Physical Abuse Unit conducted interviews and processed the scene.

Dustin Jose was originally charged with three counts of child abuse and  booked into the Pima County Jail.

The baby remained in critical condition until she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.

On Thursday, detectives charged Dustin Jose with an additional count of 1st Degree Murder.
