Female jogger escapes attempted abduction in San Tan Valley

FLORENCE — The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help after a 26-year-old woman, who was jogging in the Johnson Ranch community in San Tan Valley just before 10 a.m. Thursday was the victim of an attempted abduction.

The victim reported that she noticed someone in a vehicle following her as she was jogging near Maravilla Drive and Indigo Sky Blvd.

As the driver was followed her he made inappropriate comments and noises toward the woman.

When she arrived at that intersection, the driver opened his door and grabbed the victim by the arm and attempted to pull her into his vehicle.

The victim got away, but the driver continued to follow her, telling her to get into the truck. When she called 911 for help, the driver sped away.  The woman received medical treatment for minor injuries to her wrist.”

The driver was described as a white male in his mid-30s, brown hair, with scruffy facial hair, wearing a light colored or white shirt. The vehicle was described as a gray truck, possibly a  Toyota Tacoma.
