TUCSON —  Dino Genduso, a 47 year-old Tucson man,  was killed at about 10:15 p.m. Thursday when he was struck by an SUV as he walked across Craycroft Road.

The victim had just left a nearby business on foot and was crossing from west to east on the 1000 block of south Craycroft Road, said a Tucson Police Department release.

Mr. Genduso crossed the southbound lanes of traffic and as he entered the northbound lanes he was struck by a maroon SUV that was traveling northbound in the center lane.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The Tucson Fire Department immediately transported the victim to Banner University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Mr. Genduso was wearing all dark clothing and was not in a crosswalk, the police department’s release said. The driver involved was not impaired and speed did not appear to be a factor in the collision.

No citations were issued. The investigation is on-going. Anyone with additional information is asked to call 88-CRIME.
