Boyfriend of woman shoots her husband to death in Casa Grande

ESTRANGED HUSBAND ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED WIFE'S BOYFRIEND BEFORE HE WAS SHOT

CASA GRANDE — A 33-year-old man was shot to death in the apartment of his estranged wife at about 8 p.m Saturday, after he allegedly assaulted his wife’s boyfriend.

Michael Watson, 33, has been identified as the victim of a shooting, that occurred on an apartment in the 900 block of North Colorado Street, said a press release from the Casa Grande Police Department.

Officers who arrived on the scene discovered Watson with an apparent single gunshot wound to the front upper torso. He was transported to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe Watson arrived at the apartment of the 30-year-old woman,  where there was a confrontation him and the boyfriend.

Watson physically assaulted the 32-year-old boyfriend, who then discharged a handgun, striking Watson in the torso, the police release said.

The boyfriend and the estranged wife remained on scene and cooperated with the police investigators. No charges have been filed at this time.

The boyfriend was not seriously injured.
