HEREFORD — The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office received a call Friday morning that a 73-year old woman and her husband were hiking on the Arizona Trail, at the top of Miller Canyon, when the woman suffered a medical issue.
The woman was located and medically assessed by Sheriff’s Office paramedics before setting up a short haul to bring her down to a landing zone and into a waiting ambulance.
The Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team responded along with Fry Fire and Arizona Department of Public Safety air support Ranger.

In the morning hours of Friday March 1, 2019, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a 73 year old woman and her husband were hiking in the area of the Arizona Trail at the top of Miller Canyon when the woman suffered a medical issue, according to the Office.
Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, the Fry Fire Department, and an air support ranger from the Arizona Department of Public Safety came to the rescue and she was medically assessed by Cochise County Sheriff’s paramedics. Rescuers set up a “short haul to bring her down to a landing zone and into a waiting ambulance.”
