Tucson Teen Caught Trying To Smuggle Cocaine On Body

TUCSON – A 17-year-old Tucson teen was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of Nogales after he tried to smuggle cocaine.

The teen, a U.S. citizen, was referred for secondary inspection as he was entering the U.S. from Mexico. According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, after CBP narcotics detection dog detected the drugs, CBP officers searched the teen and discovered he had a concealed package strapped to his back. The package contained more than 2 pounds of cocaine, worth nearly $56,000.

Officers seized the drugs, while the subject was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
