Three Illegal Aliens Found In Trunk Of Phoenix Felon

TUCSON, Ariz. – A Phoenix felon with extensive criminal history, was arrested on Wednesday morning, by Border Patrol agents assigned to the I-19 immigration checkpoint near Amado after they discovered three illegal aliens in the trunk of his car.

The 36-year-old criminal, driving a 2018 Kia sedan was referred for a secondary inspection after a drug sniffing dog alerted agents. During a search of the vehicle, agents discovered and arrested three illegal alien men from Mexico, in the trunk.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the men ages 29-38, were transported to the Nogales Border Patrol Station for processing on immigration violations.

The United States citizen driver, was arrested and transported to the Nogales Station. A criminal record and biometrics checks revealed his felony convictions including aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance, and marijuana transportation and possession charges, according to CBP.

The driver is being charged with human smuggling and will remain in custody pending a disposition in this case.
