Former CDO Student Arrested After Carrying Gun On Campus

Oro Valley – On Friday, Oro Valley Police officers arrested a former Canyon del Oro student for bringing a gun on campus on Thursday.

The 15-year-old suspect is charged with Reckless Display of a Firearm, Possession of a Deadly Weapon on School Grounds, Minor Prohibited from Carrying a Firearm and Interference or Disruption of an Educational Facility.

The suspect had flashed a gun on campus on April 11, 2019 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
According to the Oro Valley Police Department, while the majority of students had left for the day, there were still many students and faculty onsite. Canyon del Oro High School (CDO) administration initiated a school lockdown.
