Yuma Sector Border Patrol Thwarts Two Human Smuggling Attempts

YUMA, Ariz. – Blythe Station agents from the Yuma Sector Border Patrol stopped two human smuggling attempts and apprehended 10 illegal aliens from Mexico, in two separate events Friday and Saturday.

At approximately 10:20 p.m. Friday, Blythe Station agents performed an immigration stop on a white Ford Fusion traveling on the Interstate 10 near Lovekin Boulevard. Agents discovered four males, all Mexican nationals, illegally present in the United States. The males ranged in age from 18 to 30 years of age. The 21-year-old male driver, who was lawfully admitted for permanent residence, was apprehended for human smuggling. The four illegal aliens were processed for immigration violations.

In the second event Saturday at approximately 4:15 a.m., Blythe Station agents conducted an immigration stop of a vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 10 near Corn Springs Road. Six illegal aliens from Mexico were apprehended and the United States citizen driver was arrested on human smuggling charges. The six male Mexican nationals were processed for immigration violations.
