The Mountain Fire, which was reported just before noon on Friday, June 7, continues to grow and has consumed 7,225 acres northeast of Cave Creek.
The fire is on the Tonto National Forest, burning east and northeast toward Horseshoe and Bartlett Lakes. Mandatory evacuations have been issued for Bartlett and Horseshoe recreational areas.
