Phoenix Woman Attempted To Smuggle $360K Of Meth

TUCSON – An unidentified Phoenix woman was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers after attempting to smuggle more than 120 pounds of methamphetamine through the Port of Nogales.

On Wednesday, CBP officers referred for secondary inspection the 40-year-old Phoenix woman driving a Buick sedan when she attempted to enter the U.S. from Mexico. Officers discovered more than 100 packages from throughout the vehicle. The packages had an estimated value of more than $360,000.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle.

The woman was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
