MIAMI, AZ – The American Red Cross has opened a Shelter at the Lee Kornegay School to support those evacuated from the Woodbury Fire burning between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Lake. The Shelter will be open 24 hours a day and will remain open to everyone affected as long as evacuations are in place.
The Lee Kornegay Intermediate School is located at 4739 Ragus Rd., Miami, AZ 85539.
As of 1:00 PM June 20 the Gila County Sheriff's Office has announced evacuation for Roosevelt and Roosevelt Lake area residents.

Portions of state routes 88 and 188 near Roosevelt Lake have been closed due to the fire, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. SR 88 is closed from milepost 213 at Tortilla Flat to SR 188 at Roosevelt. Also, SR 188 is closed from SR 88 just west of Roosevelt at milepost 244 to SR 288.
There is no estimated time to reopen either highway.
