A Pima County man, Thomas Waites, is in custody in connection to the death of motorcyclist that occurred Saturday night. Waites, age 69, was booked on 2 counts of Manslaughter, Criminal Damage and Driving Under the Influence.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, on June 29,2019, at about 8:00 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Roller Coaster Rd. and Grande Ave. for a report of a collision involving a pick up truck and a motorcycle.
Northwest Fire personnel provide attempted to saves the lives of an adult male and adult female suffering from severe injuries on the scene. The unidentified man was declared dead at the scene and the female was transported to a local hospital where she was later declared dead.
The incident is under investigation.
