Luke Airman Shot, Killed In Apparent Phoenix Break In

PHOENIX — On Sunday morning, an airman from Luke Air Force Base was shot and killed at an apartment complex in Phoenix.

According to Phoenix Police, officers responded to 7th Street and Camelback Road due to a report of a burglary at approximately 2:40 a.m.

A tenant in the apartment complex said he was sleeping when he heard someone break in. The tenant, age 27, grabbed his gun and went investigate the sound. He reportedly found the airman, age 21, trying break in the door.

The unidentified airman was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
