The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested Hunter Warin on charges that include multiple counts of aggravated assault for stabbing two men during the course of an illegal prescription drug sale on Saturday night.

According to the Sierra Vista Police Department (SVPD), at about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, an SVPD officer patrolling the area of Wilcox Drive and Coronado Drive observed a vehicle traveling east on Wilcox Drive at a high rate of speed and made a traffic stop at Wilcox Drive and Calle Portal. Once stopped, two men exited the vehicle and the officer discovered they both had stab wounds.

Timothy Jongeward, an 18-year-old Sierra Vista resident, was transported to Canyon Vista Medical Center where he was treated for a stab wound to his hand.

SVPD detectives responded to investigate the incident and learned that both men were stabbed in the course of an illegal prescription drug sale by Warin on the north side of the Casa de la Sierra apartment complex. Warin was located walking near the Knights Inn and he fled on foot. He was caught and arrested shortly after midnight on Sunday morning in the nearby Midas parking lot located on Fry Boulevard just west of Lenzner Avenue.

Warin was booked into Cochise County Jail on multiple counts of aggravated assault, one count of possession of dangerous drugs for sale, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
