UPDATE: Glendale Police Make Arrest In Attack On Recently Returned Soldier

Glendale Police detectives received tips from the public that enabled them to identify the suspect, Ricky Soqui, and the three persons of interest in an attack on recently returned soldier, Adam McClure.

On Wednesday, August 29, 2019, Glendale Police detectives arrested and booked the 32-year-old Soqui, on one felony count of aggravated assault and one count of disorderly conduct.

Soqui’s victim, the 27-year-old McClure, remains hospitalized.

On Saturday, August 17, 2019, at approximately 2:25 A.M., Glendale Police officers responded to a restaurant located at 99th Ave and Camelback Road in response to calls for a fight. According to Glendale Police, McClure’s group and Soqui’s group of people got into a confrontation inside the restaurant. Allegedly, Soqui took a swing at McClure prompting the groups to be kicked out of the restaurant. Once outside, Soqui hit Adam, knocked him unconscious and continued to assault him.

Soqui fled the scene and while McClure’s friends performed CPR on him before he was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Soqui faces one felony count of aggravated assault and one count of disorderly conduct.
