Casa Grande – The Casa Grande Police Department has arrested 22 year old Angel Noland Jr. as the suspect in the murder investigation of 65 year-old Patricia Roberson.

The Casa Grande Police Department (CGPD) were called Thursday morning, August 29, regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in the alley behind businesses in the 300 block of East Cottonwood Lane. Officers arrived on scene and were able to review the business’s surveillance video, in which a man is seen parking the vehicle and throwing the keys over a block wall before running away.

Officers identified the registered owner of the vehicle and went to her house to investigate. Upon arriving at the house on Gabrilla Court, officers discovered Ms. Roberson, deceased on the floor of the home. Ms. Roberson appears to have suffered multiple stab wounds to her body.

Detectives immediately began the search for a suspect, to include the individual who left the victim’s vehicle in the alley the day before. Detectives obtained photo images Noland with Ms. Roberson at Home Depot on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers found Noland walking on Florence Boulevard. He attempted to evade officers, but was taken into custody inside Starbucks.

Noland is homeless and local to Casa Grande. According to CGPD, officers have had some contact with him, but no criminal contact.

Noland was transported to the Casa Grande Police Department, interviewed and then transported to the Pinal County Adult Detention Center for booking.

Charges of 2nd Degree Murder and Vehicle Theft are being submitted to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for review.
