Freight train derails, closes down rail lines east of Flagstaff

On Monday, at approximately 5:14 a.m., a freight train derailed near Twin Arrows Casino about 26 miles east of Flagstaff. The accident forced the closure of both rail lines east of Flagstaff.

According to officials with Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railway, the train had only 14 cars. Chemicals were not on board.

There were no injuries.
