Schweikert Only Arizona Republican To Vote Against Trump On Syria

WASHINGTON – Rep. David Schweikert was the sole member of the Arizona Republican caucus to join a handful of Republicans who supported a House resolution to condemn President Trump’s decision to pull U.S. troops out of northern Syria.

The resolution passed on Wednesday in a 354-60 vote. On Thursday, the White House announced that a ceasefire had been negotiated.


Rep. Paul Gosar tweeted after the vote on Wednesday that the U.S. has “no business protecting Turkish borders or Syrian borders.”
