UPDATE: One Phoenix Police Officer, Two Women Shot, Suspect DEAD

UPDATE: According to Phoenix Police, the unidentified suspect has died from injuries sustained from his standoff with officers.

PHOENIX – A total of 5 people were injured overnight including two Phoenix Police officers. The shooting happened at a home near 28th St. & Atlanta which is just north of Roeser.

According to Phoenix Police, the incident began when officers responded to the home around 8:00 p.m. Saturday night. Officers were then called back to the residence after 11:00 p.m., where they were told a man had a gun and wouldn’t allow three other people inside the home to leave.

Phoenix police added that a standoff between officers and the suspect lasted for six hours. The incident came to an end early Sunday morning after the suspect was shot.

A total of four people were shot including an officer, two women and the suspect.

The officer who was also shot is at Maricopa County Medical Center where he is expected to recover from his injuries.

Another officer was bit by a K9 during the incident.

The suspect was shot during the incident and is in critical condition.
