Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Seeking Public Assistance In Welfare Check

Cochise County – The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for information regarding the welfare of 48 year old Dana Lynn Welch. She was last heard from on November 17, 2019.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday November 21, 2019 at approximately 8:25 p.m. they were asked to conduct a welfare check on Ms. Welch.

The reporting person told the Sheriff’s Office that he had received a text message from Ms. Welch that said she was being abused, held hostage, and forced to take drugs.

A computer IP check was conducted and indicated that text came from an area in Phoenix, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office issued an attempt to locate to agencies in the Phoenix area to locate and check the welfare of Ms. Welch.

According to the reporting person, he had last seen Ms. Welch on Thursday November 14, 2019 and the last text message from her prior to the reported one was on Sunday November 17, 2019. He told the Sheriff’s Office that Ms. Welch was living with him at his residence in Whetstone for nine months prior to him asking her to leave due to what he described as her excessive alcohol use.
