Regents Approve University Of Arizona Athletic Director Heeke’s $750,000 Contract

The Arizona Board of Regents approved a one-year contract extension with new terms for Director of Athletics Dave Heeke through the 2022-23 academic year.

Heeke’s $750,000, with annual increased of $10,000 contract now runs through March 31, 2023.

This weekend, the University of Arizona Wildcat football team lost the Territorial Cup game to the Arizona State University Sun Devils for the third season in a row.

Heeke came to Tucson in 2017 after having spent the last 11 years as Athletic Director at Central Michigan University, and the 18 years prior to that in the University of Oregon Athletic Department.

  1. Wow. That’s more than the UA president will be raking in. The quality of education, not to mention the various teams’ less than stellar performances, seem to decline as administrative salaries rise.

  2. Nothing like mo’money, mo’money, mo’money for losers in public education. A basketball team nailed by the FBI for pimping players, a horrible football team and empty seats in a stadium where millions and millions were spent. The answer, mo’money, mo’money, mo’money.

    Back to the WAC. Arizona has no business in the PAC, they will never be competitive.

    • Speaking of the Basketball team, since the Book Richardson case ended and they announced there was an NCAA investigation into the UofA as well as Sean Miller, I have not heard a thing!

      Are we to assume this is being swept under the rug?
