Glendale Woman, Dog Killed In Early Morning Fire

GLENDALE – A Glendale woman and a dog were killed in an apartment fire that occurred early Monday morning. The fire broke out on the patio of an apartment complex near 51st and Northern avenues at approximately 2:30 a.m.

According to the Glendale Fire Department, crews were able to extinguish the blaze after rescuing two people. Both were in their twenties. The woman did not survive her injuries and the male was transported to a local hospital. His current condition is unknown.

Eleven residents have been displaced as a result of the fire.

The cause is under investigation.
